Job Summary:

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team in a hospital and/or clinical setting. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic ultrasound services, including OB/GYN, abdominal, and vascular superficial structures. You will also be responsible for performing clerical duties as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnostic Procedures: Perform diagnostic procedures using knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the age of the patient served, including routine, emergent, portable, and surgical examinations in accordance with department policies and procedures.
  • Communication: Communicate with radiologists to ensure accurate and timely diagnosis.
  • Patient Care: Assist patients with transportation and provide exam review, file work, and restocking supplies/cleaning as required.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance functions to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements:
  • Education: Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited ultrasonographer program or 2 years of previous ultrasound experience.
  • License/Certification: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Ob-GYN required at hire from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Abdomen required at hire from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
  • Basic Life Support: Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 1 month of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience performing ultrasound exams, preferably within the last 3 years.
  • Vascular Experience: Vascular ultrasonographer experience preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Demonstrated ability to use and apply excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as technical skills in diagnostic equipment and imaging and healthcare computer systems.
