Job Title: Inpatient Facility Medical Coding Specialist

Job Summary:

NASC Global, LLC is seeking an experienced Inpatient Facility Medical Coding Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for reviewing medical records and assigning accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures. Your attention to detail and coding expertise will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance and accuracy while supporting the overall quality of patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

* Review medical records to assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
* Utilize coding software and electronic medical records systems to ensure accurate and efficient coding.
* Identify and assign principal diagnoses and procedures, ensuring proper classification and sequencing.
* Perform chart analysis to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with CMS guidelines.
* Stay current on coding regulations, industry trends, and coding publications.
* Communicate with physicians to clarify diagnoses and procedures as needed.

Qualifications:

* Minimum of five years of experience in medical coding, with four years specifically in inpatient facility coding.
* Must possess one of the following certifications: Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS).

Desired Skills:

* Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management.
* Experience in medical record audits and data analysis.
* Knowledge of CMS HCC Risk Adjustment coding.

Technical Skills:

* Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, HCPCS/CPT, and government regulations regarding coding.
* Strong understanding of medical terminology, disease processes, diagnostic, and surgical procedures.
* Proficiency in EMR systems and coding software.
