Job Title: Quality Engineer Service

At Briggs & Stratton, we are committed to excellence in quality and manufacturing processes. We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for leading and completing moderately complex quality engineering assignments, performing statistical analysis of data, and providing information to meet quality standards in the commercial service business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform moderately complex quality assurance assignments and projects
  • Participate in new models development process
  • Perform Quality Management System documentation activities
  • Coordinate moderately complex product/process capability studies
  • Lead problem solving teams, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and verify effectiveness
  • Develop product/process procedures, including development of performance metrics
  • Perform statistical analysis used in problem solving, quality improvement projects, and Six Sigma teams
  • Perform layouts, reads, and understands geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Investigate customer complaints, develop corrective action plans, and verify effectiveness
  • Lead Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) teams and the development of Control Plans
  • Serve as a liaison between supplier and Briggs & Stratton in quality activities
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Quality Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of three years of related experience in engineering, purchasing, or quality field
  • Fundamental quality experience in machining or assembly type operations
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility
Preferred Qualifications:
  • ASQ Quality Engineer, ASQ Quality Auditor, or Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Experience with enterprise-wide reporting systems, such as SAP and/or Teamcenter
Additional Knowledge & Skills:
  • Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with diverse groups of internal and external customers
  • Ability to prepare and present technical information
  • Thorough technical knowledge and background of quality and manufacturing processes, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), layout, and gaging; machining methods and assembly processes, as well as statistical analysis
