Orthopedic Surgical Registered Nurse

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in Orthopedic Surgery to provide exceptional care in our surgical unit.
POSITION TYPE: Registered Nurse (RN)
SPECIALTY UNIT: Orthopedic Surgical Unit
SHIFT: Night Shift - Options for three 12-hour shifts or two 12-hour shifts available.
COMPENSATION: Includes a Night Shift Differential and potential relocation assistance.
Role Summary:
The ideal candidate will exhibit a strong commitment to monitoring and supporting patients in the post-anesthesia care environment, ensuring their safe recovery following surgical procedures. Attention to detail is crucial as you facilitate the transition of patients from anesthesia to alertness.
As an RN in our Orthopedic Surgical Unit, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting thorough assessments of patients prior to surgical procedures.
- Ensuring all necessary consents are properly obtained and documented.
- Monitoring vital signs and post-operative conditions consistently.
- Administering IVs and providing clear information regarding procedures to patients.
- Reviewing medical histories to identify critical patient information.
- Performing essential post-operative care, including bandage changes and medication administration.
- Addressing patient inquiries and ensuring comfort throughout their recovery.
- Observing for any changes in patient conditions and communicating findings to physicians.
- Responding effectively to post-operative emergencies as needed.
- Educating patients and their families about home recovery protocols and restrictions.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Qualifications:
- Current RN License required; must comply with state licensure regulations.
- Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is essential.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- A minimum of one year of acute care experience is required.
- Specialized nursing skills and knowledge pertinent to the orthopedic field.
