Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Patient Registration Specialist to join our team at a leading healthcare provider in the Indianapolis area. As a key member of our patient access team, you will play a critical role in ensuring a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and assist patients in a professional and friendly manner, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Accurately collect and input patient information, including personal, insurance, and billing details, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy laws.
  • Verify insurance coverage and obtain authorizations as needed, collaborating with healthcare staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
  • Manage patient admissions, including scheduling appointments and coordinating services, ensuring timely and efficient processing.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and provide information or direct inquiries to the appropriate department, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy laws, maintaining confidentiality and security of patient information.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a patient-facing role or healthcare setting is preferred, with a strong understanding of medical terminology and computer systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, able to maintain accurate records and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and experience with patient registration software is preferred, with a basic understanding of medical terminology.
