Job Summary:

As a General Manager at RaceTrac, you will be responsible for driving profitability for one store and leading up to 45 employees. You will deliver on the company's mission of making people's lives simpler and more enjoyable through a focus on friendly service, food execution, cleanliness, building talent, and driving success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish a positive and professional work environment, ensuring prompt, efficient, and courteous service to guests.
• Lead and direct relationships with co-workers, direct reports, guests, and vendors, maintaining a consistent team-oriented attitude and store culture.
• Manage and mitigate guest concerns with a sense of urgency, involving regional team members as needed.
• Complete guest transactions at the cash register or self-checkout stations, suggesting products that complement purchases.

Food Service Excellence:

• Drive excellence in food service by executing designed processes, increasing sales and margin, ensuring product quality, and using training resources.
• Ensure all food offers are available, and preparation areas and equipment are clean and properly maintained.

Store Cleanliness and Safety:

• Encourage and manage a high standard of store cleanliness, adhering to all safety-related regulations, including food safety regulations.
• Execute shift duties, maintain overall presentation standards, and represent the RaceTrac brand.

Leadership and Talent Development:

• Demonstrate RaceTrac's Core Values of Honesty, Efficiency, Positive Attitude, Respect, and Teamwork.
• Lead the coaching, training, and assessment of direct reports, adhering to operational standards.
• Develop and maintain a relationship with vendors to ensure efficient and correct deliveries.
• Ensure communication is passed to every team member in the store, using company-provided tools to coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing store team.

Financial Management:

• Review financial statements, sales, analysis reports, and other performance data to measure productivity.
• Actively identify areas of operational improvements based on market trends, ensuring all risk management issues are in compliance with company standards.
• Create or approve Management and Associate schedules to ensure proper staffing levels for expected sale volumes, considering team member availability, payroll, and overtime costs.
• Engage in the hiring of all store associates, developing managers to understand RaceTrac hiring processes and participate in hiring decisions.
• Write, implement, and monitor manager development and performance plans, ensuring all team members follow policies and company standards at all times.
• Have a complete understanding of budget and cost trends that impact operations, proactively working to drive sales and overall financial health of the store.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED in progress or completed.
• 5+ years of prior food service, retail, or restaurant supervisory experience; retail management experience preferred.
• Previous experience working in high-volume, guest-focused, transactional environments preferred.
• Knowledge and skills in analyzing overall financial performance of the store, including profit and loss statements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proven knowledge of Labor Laws and staffing best practices.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and repeatedly bend, stand, and reach while on the job.
• Must obtain and maintain Manager Food Handler certification.
• May be required to obtain and maintain alcohol server permit, based on local or state requirements.
