The successful candidate will possess a minimum of three years of experience in a Nurse Educator role, specifically within Long Term Care settings. The Clinical Nurse Educator will be responsible for identifying and addressing the educational needs of our staff, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, and enhancing overall staff performance through effective coaching and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and implement staff development programs that align with safety protocols, infection control measures, and regulatory requirements.
- Support the continuous improvement of educational practices through coaching and constructive feedback.
- Stay current with industry trends by attending workshops, reviewing literature, and engaging with professional networks.
- Document educational activities, track attendance, and evaluate participant feedback.
- Provide regular updates on educational initiatives and staff progress.
- Contribute to Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) meetings and projects.
- Collaborate with the Director of Quality and/or Director of Nursing to develop comprehensive training programs.
- Maintain accurate records and assist in data collection for performance assessments.
- Foster positive relationships with all team members and external stakeholders.
- Engage with employees on leave to facilitate their return to work.
- Review and analyze incident reports and coordinate education related to workplace safety.
- Administer necessary health screenings and vaccinations in accordance with established guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- At least three years of experience as a Nurse Educator in a Long Term Care environment.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) License in New York State.
- Experience in long-term care settings is preferred.
- Proven ability to educate and mentor diverse groups effectively.
- CPR certification is required; CPR trainer certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
- Commitment to ethical standards and confidentiality.
- Understanding of emergency preparedness and safety regulations.
- Familiarity with infection control protocols.
- Ability to manage documentation and record-keeping efficiently.
