Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Plant Mechanic to join our team at Emerald Coast Utilities Authority. As an Industrial Plant Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine and emergency repairs on mechanical equipment associated with water and/or wastewater treatment plants and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to calls for emergency repairs and perform routine maintenance and repair work on mechanical equipment.
  • Inspect and test equipment and machinery for proper operation and perform repairs as needed.
  • Use precision measuring instruments and perform advanced industrial maintenance activities with little supervision.
  • Design and fabricate repair parts and use gas and ARC welding equipment.
  • Read blueprints, sketches, diagrams, and technical manuals and prepare requisitions for the purchase of supplies and materials.
  • Perform preventive maintenance checks as scheduled and maintain various activity records and logs.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent and two years of progressively responsible experience in an industrial plant environment performing mechanical maintenance on pumps, motors, valves, etc.
  • Additional vocational or technical training in mechanical maintenance is preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency in welding and basic Windows knowledge required.
  • Possession of a Florida Class A Commercial Driver License or ability to obtain a Class A CDL within six months of employment.
Working Conditions

The incumbent will work in a fast-paced environment with moderate to heavy physical demands. The employee will be required to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and work near moving mechanical parts, work in high precarious places, and be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
