Job Title: Plant Maintenance Mechanic

Buffalo Rock is seeking a skilled Plant Maintenance Mechanic to join our Corporate Maintenance Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment to ensure the smooth operation of our plant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment, including motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment.
  • Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
  • Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
  • Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments, using hand tools, level, plum bobs, and straightedges.
  • Repair or replace functional and structural parts in devices, using hand tools.
  • Start devices to test their performance.
  • Lubricate and clean parts.
  • May set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
  • May initiate purchase order for parts and machines.
  • May repair electrical equipment.
  • Required to weld and burn.
  • Requires lifting up to 50 pounds maximum.
  • Set up codes/repair for production lines.
  • Observe operation of equipment to determine if the problem is with equipment or operator.
  • Food Safety: Required to follow the Good Manufacturing Program GMPs as listed in the Code of Federal Regulations CFR 21 section 110. Required participation in various Food Safety related training that Buffalo Rock utilizes. Required to report potential issues related to Food Safety.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
  • 3 plus years of experience in Manufacturing Maintenance: Required
  • Industrial Electrician Experience: Preferred
  • Multi-Craft Industrial Experience: Preferred
Work Environment:

Working conditions will be inside and outside where temperatures will vary from extreme heat to extreme cold, all for extended periods.
