Compliance and Reporting Specialist

As a Compliance and Reporting Specialist at the University of Texas at Austin, you will play a critical role in ensuring institutional compliance on expenditures and appointments. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the Director of Development for Compliance and Reporting in planning, organizing, and implementing annual reviews of UT Austin endowments.
  • Implementing compliance monitoring activities, including design, entry, and maintenance of tracking documents and/or databases.
  • Reviewing, approving, and tracking co-sponsorships, transfers, and sub-accounts for endowment operating accounts.
  • Communicating with college/school/unit personnel regarding identified compliance questions.
  • Assisting in identifying and developing other endowment and gift reporting needs and liaising with staff in CSUs.
  • Preparing and proofing quarterly and annual reports regarding compliance activities.
  • Maintaining and modifying, as needed, compliance-related database and file information.
  • Consulting with IT support staff and the Reporting/Analytics/Data team on compliance-related monitoring and reporting needs.
  • Serving as back-up for review and adding to VIP Faculty Fellow appointments for professorships and chairs and Holder appointments for faculty fellowships.
  • Manually adding staff awardees to VIP and manually adding recipients of endowment funds to VIP.
  • Interpreting gift and donor endowment policies and administrative issues along with the colleges, schools, and UT System Offices.
  • Implementing and managing non-endowed compliance monitoring.
  • Assisting the Director of Compliance and Reporting with tracking/monitoring for the Texas Challenge Match program and updating database records as donor gifts are matched.
  • Managing and implementing the UTIMCO Financial Reports project.

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management systems.
