Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Resources Engineer to join our team at the Suwannee River Water Management District. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for performing entry-level to advanced engineering work, reviewing permit applications, preparing technical reports, and assisting in permit compliance and engineering analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with district staff, cooperating agencies, and stakeholders to complete projects within statutory and district timeframes.
  • Prepare board materials, staff reports, and technical reports, including memos, final orders, exhibits, and location maps.
  • Document permitting interactions, public interactions, and other application and/or permit interactions.
  • Respond to public inquiries regarding permitting, permit compliance, public records requests, and flood zones.
  • Ensure issued permits remain in compliance with permit conditions and applicable rules.
  • Perform field inspections on issued and expired permits for compliance and resolve any non-compliance issues.
  • Develop, coordinate, and manage major water quality, water supply, flood improvement, and natural system projects.
  • Perform modeling, data collection, and statistical analysis for district projects.
  • Analyze hydrologic, hydraulic, and engineering data for water quality and supply projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field, preferably in civil, environmental, hydraulic, agricultural, or water resources.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in customer service or public service, preferably in a related field.
  • Valid driver's license.
