Essential Functions:

1. Project Scheduling Responsibilities: 90%

  • Develops and maintains comprehensive project schedules using scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project), establishing realistic project timelines and milestones based on project scope and contractual obligations.
  • Collaborates with the Preconstruction and Project Support group and resource managers to create the best possible schedule, maximize profit opportunities, maximize productivity, and minimize downtime.
  • Coordinates with project managers, external engineers, and subcontractors to integrate project plans into master schedules.
  • Identifies potential risks to project schedules and develops contingency plans to mitigate risks.
  • Monitors and updates schedules to reflect changes in scope, delays, or other adjustments.
  • Facilitates communication between project teams, subcontractors, and clients regarding schedule-related matters.
  • Collaborates with Estimating Department and project teams for resource loading (construction - material release(s) - labor - cash - Schedule of Values billing).
  • Communicates schedule status updates to stakeholders and management regularly.
  • Attends on site project meetings. Prepares agenda and runs internal meetings as needed.
  • Works with Project Managers to identify "critical path activities" and, when directed, prepares documentation to accomplish these activities and submits documentation to the Project Manager for final approval.
2. Performs other duties as assigned by management. 10%

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience as a Scheduler, or in similar role in the electrical contracting or construction industry preferred.
Skills/Abilitites:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and trends.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality in scheduling and timeline management.
  • Effective reasoning and judgement abilities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, or other related software.
  • Proficient with scheduling software (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, etc.) and familiarity with project management methodologies.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Capable of reading, interpreting, and understanding all contract documents and requirements.
  • Able to demonstrate a good understanding of the construction process.
  • Able to demonstrate and maintain a working knowledge of trade terms, material, bidding methods, codes, contract, and specification language.
  • Able to complete scheduling related continuous education.
Work Environment:
  • Office environment with frequent travel required.
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; must be able to reach with hands and arms. Manual dexterity associated with computer data entry required.
