Position Summary:

The Utility Worker plays a crucial role in the outdoor production area of the AmeriGas Cylinder Exchange facility, focusing on the handling and processing of propane cylinders, specifically 20 lb. barbeque grill cylinders.

Compensation: Starting pay is $17.00/hr. No prior experience is required as comprehensive training will be provided. This position offers an excellent opportunity to collaborate with a supportive team.

Responsibilities:
  • Sort, inspect, clean, paint, label, and refill empty propane cylinders.
  • Prioritize safety and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Ensure the quality of processed cylinders meets company standards.
  • Load filled cylinders onto trucks for upcoming shipments.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Lift and move up to 50 pounds repeatedly during shifts.
  • Perform general housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean work environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Ability to follow established processes, procedures, and instructions.
  • Capable of functioning effectively within a production team.
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the role.
  • Basic mechanical skills and computer knowledge.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to stand for 8-10 hours per day.
  • Must be able to obtain necessary state licensing and forklift certification.
Education and Experience:
  • Preferred 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
Working Conditions:
  • Employees may be exposed to various environmental conditions such as wind, rain, ice, and snow, as the production area is not enclosed.
