Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research and interviews to gather information and develop engaging content for various communications channels.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and quality of content.
  • Proofread and edit all division-produced content to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Develop and implement internal communications strategies to promote employee engagement and awareness of agency initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across the agency to gather feedback and insights.
  • Analyze content for accessibility and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Participate in usability testing and provide feedback on online content.
  • Upload and maintain content on the agency intranet website.
  • Assist the Web Services Team in testing and improving online content.
  • Plan and create visual content, including illustrations and infographics.
  • Coordinate the preparation and distribution of organizational publications and news releases.
  • Write and edit written and spoken copy for accuracy and clarity.
  • Develop a range of communications products to support agency programs and activities.
  • Research and write articles, video scripts, and other content for internal communications activities.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of internal communications content and make recommendations for improvement.

Requirements:
  • Knowledge of agency functions, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of news and communication media.
  • Knowledge of various social media platforms.
  • Knowledge of editing and preparing informational material.
  • Knowledge of design principles.
  • Knowledge of publishing and broadcast industries.
  • Strong interpersonal and writing skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Established skills in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to oversee and/or supervise the work of others.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Sharepoint functionality.
  • AP Style knowledge.
  • Experience in internal communications, content development, or a related field.
