In the event of aircraft damage, prompt and effective repairs are crucial to return to operational status. Aircraft Structural Repair Specialists are tasked with restoring the physical integrity of Air Force aircraft. These experts employ a variety of techniques, ranging from the installation of replacement components to the fabrication of new structures, to uphold the high standards of safety and performance required for Airmen.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a vital member of the Air Force team, your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing and diagnosing structural damage to aircraft.
- Executing repairs using advanced methods and materials.
- Ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Collaborating with other maintenance personnel to achieve operational readiness.
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet specific criteria established by the Air Force and federal regulations. These include:
- Minimum age of 17 years and not exceeding 42 years at enlistment.
- U.S. citizenship and a qualifying ASVAB score.
- Completion of 7.5 weeks of Basic Military Training.
Applicants should possess a high school diploma or equivalent. High school students may initiate their application process at the conclusion of their junior year. Non-graduates or those without alternate credentials must achieve an AFQT Test score of 65 or higher on the ASVAB.
