Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Water Resource Specialist to join our team at Jobot. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting geospatial data related to water resources. Your expertise in GIS software, such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar, and experience with database management will be crucial in creating high-quality maps and graphic reports to communicate complex data to a range of audiences.

Responsibilities

• Utilize GIS software to analyze and interpret geospatial data related to water resources.
• Create, update, and manage water resource databases, including the development and maintenance of spatial and attribute data.
• Develop high-quality maps and graphic reports to communicate complex data to a range of audiences, from technical experts to the general public.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, hydrologists, and environmental scientists to develop innovative solutions to water resource management challenges.
• Conduct field investigations and assessments of water resources, including surface water, groundwater, and stormwater.
• Participate in the planning, design, and implementation of water resource projects, such as flood risk management, water supply, and water quality improvement projects.
• Provide technical expertise in the application of GIS technologies to support water resource management and decision-making.

Requirements

The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A Masters degree or higher is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in GIS and water resource management.
• Proficiency in GIS software, such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar, and experience with database management.
• Demonstrated ability to create high-quality maps and graphic reports.
• Strong understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic principles and their application in water resource management.
• Experience in conducting field investigations and assessments of water resources.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to a variety of audiences.
• Professional certification in GIS or water resource management is a plus.
