Veterinary Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team at Petco Total Care full-service hospital. As a key member of our technical team, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional veterinary care to our patients and delivering outstanding customer service to their owners.
Key Responsibilities- Provide excellent patient care, including obtaining vital signs, administering medications, and performing laboratory tests.
- Assist veterinarians with appointments, surgery, and other medical procedures, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical history, treatment plans, and test results.
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing education and support to ensure their understanding of their pet's health and treatment options.
- Participate in the training and development of new staff members, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork within the hospital.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the hospital, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- College or college-equivalent education as a Credentialed Veterinary Technician in the state where the hospital is located.
- At least 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a veterinary practice.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Compassion, empathy, and a professional attitude, with the ability to maintain a calm and composed demeanor in high-pressure situations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
The majority of job duties will be conducted in the Petco Total Care full-service hospital. The position requires bending, kneeling, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing for long periods of time. A significant amount of time will be spent in direct contact with clients and their pets.
