About Us:

The Facility Operations Electrical team is responsible for a variety of critical functions. Our duties encompass both scheduled and emergency maintenance for the utility infrastructure, which includes a 40Mw medium voltage Main station and 14 substations, along with associated systems. We also provide ongoing routine maintenance and emergency repairs for power and lighting systems within buildings and grounds, rated at 600V and below. Additionally, we offer design/build services for unique projects, project management, engineering services, and power quality monitoring for clients across the campus.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Exhibit a proactive attitude and ability to learn and perform tasks within the electrical field.
  • Utilize the Procore Maintenance system to document daily accomplishments, create reports, and manage data.
  • Engage with the Learning Management System for professional development.
  • Complete daily time logs and submit material orders to ensure continuous workflow.
  • Follow and comply with verbal and written safety protocols, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Integrate safety practices into daily tasks, focusing on areas such as cleanliness, proper storage of tools and materials, and safe lifting techniques.
  • Effectively use a work phone and computer for reporting and administrative functions.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in creating and modifying Microsoft Office documents and maintaining daily time records.


Daily and Monthly Duties:
  • Adhere to lockout-tagout protocols, employing basic hand tools, ladders, lift equipment, trade materials, and vehicles to ensure safe work practices.
  • Engage in physically demanding tasks, showing the ability to work in challenging conditions, including extreme weather and hazardous environments.
  • Possess a solid understanding of tasks, materials, processes, and tools relevant to electrical installation, adhering to the National Electric Code.
  • Select and implement suitable wiring methods and overcurrent protection devices (OCPD), ensuring proper wire sizing.
  • Demonstrate comfort and safety while working at heights using ladders and lifts.
  • Respond efficiently to electrical service requests and adhere to installation timelines.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Communicate clearly with peers and supervisors, following guidance from project leaders.


Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Preferred coursework includes algebra 1, trade-related classes, or participation in an apprenticeship program.
  • Willingness to work shifts as needed.
  • 1 to 5 years of experience in electrical or a related trade is preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical tasks, materials, processes, and tools, with the ability to perform mathematical calculations and interpret equipment manuals and blueprints.
  • Must possess the ability to operate vehicles and trailers safely, adhering to all driving safety regulations.
  • A valid and clear driver's license is mandatory.
