Diagnostic Heroes Wanted

We are seeking highly skilled and motivated individuals to join our team as Cytotechnologists in our busy clinical lab in Phoenix. This role will involve working on both Hospital and clinical reference cases in a team-oriented, training-focused work environment.

As a Cytotechnologist at Sonora Quest, you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and a diverse case mix due to our affiliation with the University of Arizona. We are looking for experienced professionals who enjoy variety, some autonomy, and the drive to ensure quality patient diagnostic care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform quality and productive microscopic examination and evaluation of gynecological and non-gynecological specimens for the diagnosis of malignant and pre-malignant conditions.
  • Assist with fine needle aspiration collection and NGYN and FNA screening.
  • Participate in proficiency testing and continuing education to maintain expertise in cytotechnology.
  • Keep daily workload records in accordance with CLIA '88.
Requirements
  • Completion of a cytotechnology program from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) school.
  • ASCP certification or eligibility required.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills required.
  • Ability to attain 90% on an internal proficiency test at the time of interview.
  • Annual passing of the required CAP-PT (or approved alternative by CLIA).
  • Maintenance of 80% proficiency on quarterly GYN CAP mailings and 24 continuing education credits each year.

  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
