Job Title: IT Support Engineer

We are seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer to join our team at Merge IT LLC. As an IT Support Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, analyzing, troubleshooting, and repairing computer systems, hardware, and computer peripherals.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and upgrade software systems, including documentation and troubleshooting.
  • Support and maintain user account information, including rights, security, and systems groups.
  • Install, upgrade, support, and troubleshoot desktop applications, including Windows 7, Microsoft Office, Apple, Mac, iPhones, iPads, and other authorized applications.
  • Install, upgrade, support, and troubleshoot printers, computer hardware, and other authorized peripheral equipment.
  • Perform general preventative maintenance tasks on computers, laptops, printers, and other authorized peripheral equipment.
  • Monitor, operate, manage, troubleshoot, and restore to service personal computers, notebooks, and other equipment with authorized access to the network.
  • Deal with hardware and application support queries and issues reported to the support desk and escalated to the Desktop Support team.
  • Provide user data and application recovery and use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot problems associated with network connectivity and workstation hardware/software.
  • Work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical issues within the desktop environment.
  • Evaluate and escalate issues to involve experts wherever required to resolve issues as quickly as possible.
  • Perform routine or as-requested health checks of IT systems for printers, copiers, fax machines, scanners, and video conference equipment and provide reports as needed.
  • Provide training to end-users on how to operate equipment as requested.
Requirements:
  • 24+ years of experience in the field working as an IT Support Specialist or in a related area.
  • Familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of PC's and desktop hardware.
  • Able to operate effectively in a team environment with both technical and non-technical team members.
  • Self-confidence in analytical and problem-solving skills, good communication (both verbal and written) skills, planning, organizing skills, and good administration management skills.
