Job Summary

This position plays a critical role in the success of our construction projects by coordinating site activities, ensuring quality, and maintaining safety standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction management, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of construction disciplines, including union agreements, cost control, and scheduling.

About the Role

As a Construction Superintendent, you will oversee all aspects of site operations, including supervising trade personnel, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality work, meeting project deadlines, and controlling costs. To achieve this, you will need to develop and maintain detailed project schedules, coordinate deliveries, and prepare regular reports to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:
  • Developing, updating, and maintaining project schedules, including master schedules and look-ahead schedules for assigned trades.
  • Ensuring implementation and continuous maintenance of corporate safety program requirements, including conducting regular safety audits and providing training to site personnel.
  • Coordinating deliveries, attending weekly meetings with foremen and superintendents, and preparing daily construction reports to highlight progress, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  • Establishing risk controls, maintaining document control systems, and communicating issues requiring additional information from designers to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Assisting in preparation of monthly status reports and ensuring required permits and approvals are secured before commencing work.


Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent years of experience.
  • New York City Buildings Construction Superintendent License.
  • 10-Hour OSHA and 30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety and Health Certificate.
  • 4-Hour Supported Scaffold User Certificate.
