Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Retail Associate to join our team at Goodwill Southern California. As a Retail Associate, you will play a critical role in delivering an exceptional customer experience, achieving sales goals, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent service to all customers, engage with each customer, and present a friendly and cooperative attitude.
  • Point of Sale (POS) and Cash Handling: Perform accurate POS and cash handling procedures, including operating a cash register and processing transactions.
  • Mission and Values: Communicate the Goodwill mission and values to customers, employees, and donors, and act in accordance with our values of Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence.
  • Donation Processing: Receive and accurately record donations using technology, sort, clean, and process donated goods, and price items according to company standards.
  • Merchandising and Sales Floor Maintenance: Merchandise and maintain the sales floor, including restocking shelves, facing merchandise, and maintaining a visually appealing store environment.
  • Store Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe environment by following all personal protective equipment policies and procedures, and performing necessary cleaning and janitorial work.
  • Teamwork and Flexibility: Work collaboratively with a diverse team, and be flexible with scheduling, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime when needed.
Requirements
  • Basic English Skills: Ability to read, speak, and write Basic English.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to operate a cash register, personal computer, and other technology necessary to complete assigned tasks.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to share Goodwill's purpose with customers and donors, and ask for monetary donations.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability: Ability to work with a diverse team, and adapt to changing situations and priorities.
  • Reliability and Punctuality: Punctual and dependable attendance, and ability to meet deadlines and commitments.
  • Goodwill's Philosophy: Understanding of the basic philosophy of Goodwill and participation in carrying out its mission.
