Job Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing the coordination, direction, and supervision of crew(s) and subcontractors to complete various earthwork construction project activities in a safe, quality, and timely manner. This is a safety-sensitive position that requires strong leadership and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Measure distances from reference points to locate boundaries of construction sites.
  • Direct work crews engaged in operating vehicles and machines to dump, scrape, and spread dirt.
  • Verify the curvature of graded surfaces using hand levels.
  • Perform other duties as described under Supervisor.
  • May supervise bituminous paving crews, fine grading crews, or culvert laying crews.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a related field.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and practice good safety habits.
  • Physical ability to stoop, bend, and crouch, and to lift up to 50 pounds.
