Senior Construction Supervisor

The Senior Construction Supervisor will oversee and coordinate all on-site activities, ensuring that construction projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
This role requires a strong leader with extensive experience in heavy civil construction, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple teams and projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making adjustments as needed due to weather, supply, delivery, and personnel.
- Delegate individual responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractors.
- Recruit, hire, train, manage, and mentor employees and contractors.
- Provide adequate resources and staffing to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, best practices, and safety needs.
- Emphasize safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment while providing training on safety gear, helmets, and procedures.
- Develop and manage project budgets and quality standards for all sites.
- Resolve conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably.
- Regularly report project status to supervisors, site engineers, and other officials.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Appropriate training and experience required.
- Customer-service skills to communicate with inspectors and administration to develop a positive working relationship.
- Decision-making skills for selecting personnel and subcontractors for specific tasks and jobs to meet deadlines and budgets.
- Leadership skills for effectively delegating tasks to workers.
- Speaking skills for providing clear orders, explaining complex information to clients and construction workers, and discussing technical details.
- Technical skills for interpreting construction methods and technologies along with contracts and technical drawings.
- Time-management skills to meet deadlines and ensure construction phases are completed on time so that the next phase can start.
- Writing skills for writing budgets, proposals, and plans along with documenting work progress for clients and others involved.
Physical Demands:
- Work easily and skillfully with hands.
- Climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolds.
- See well (naturally or with correction) and distinguish colors.
- Reach for, handle, and grasp wires and hand tools.
- Bend, crouch, and work in small places.
- Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
