QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution recognized by the US Department of Education
- Preferred: Two years of academic teaching and leadership experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all academic programs;
  • Collaborate with the Program Coordinator and Dean of Academics to facilitate program development, implementation, evaluation, and assessment;
  • Conduct systematic reviews of programs to ensure quality, current content, best practices, and compliance with regulatory standards;
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the President, Program Coordinator, or Dean of Academics;
  • Serve on designated committees;
  • Report to the relevant program coordinator.

Personnel Responsibilities:

  • Engage in faculty recruitment and make hiring recommendations;
  • Coordinate class coverage during absences and emergencies;
  • Foster positive relationships within the department and community;
  • Maintain a minimum of three office hours weekly for student support;
  • Demonstrate punctuality in class and clinical responsibilities;
  • Exemplify professional behavior and standards;
  • Act as a change agent and leader by promoting innovative educational practices;
  • Participate in professional development to enhance effectiveness;
  • Complete a minimum of 23 continuing education hours annually:
  • For nursing:
    - 10 hours related to NLN Nurse Educator Core Competencies;
    - 5 hours related to course content;
    - 8 hours in any other relevant area.

  • Make recommendations for equipment and software purchases.

Administrative Duties:

  • Engage in budget planning;
  • Attend faculty meetings;
  • Participate in accreditation reviews and reporting;
  • Contribute to program development and policy revisions;
  • Assist in student and faculty recruitment and orientation;
  • Guide students in their orientation and advisement.

Committee Responsibilities:

  • Participate in at least one program committee;
  • Serve on the assigned program Advisory Committee;
  • Engage in organization-wide committees as requested.

Advising Responsibilities:

  • Act as an advisor for students;
  • Support students' academic and personal growth;
  • Develop remediation plans for students;
  • Schedule regular meetings with at-risk students;
  • Assist students in identifying and utilizing resources for success.

Curriculum Responsibilities:

  • Implement syllabi with all course requirements and assignments;
  • Submit suggestions for syllabus and program changes;
  • Design and implement new curriculum;
  • Evaluate curriculum effectiveness;
  • Ensure curriculum aligns with institutional philosophy and community needs.

Instructional Responsibilities:

  • Maintain classroom control;
  • Develop course and clinical syllabi reflecting college philosophy and objectives;
  • Utilize diverse teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles;
  • Encourage active student participation through practice and application;
  • Demonstrate mastery of subject matter;
  • Consider diverse cultural backgrounds in teaching;
  • Promote collaborative faculty-student relationships;
  • Provide or utilize materials that enhance learning and adhere to the syllabus;
  • Exemplify professional behavior and standards;
  • Oversee clinical supervision responsibilities, including:
  • Participating in clinical orientation;
  • Completing validations as required by clinical contracts;
  • Orienting students to clinical facilities;
  • Supervising students in patient care settings;
  • Conducting pre and post conferences with students;
  • Scheduling make-up clinical sessions as needed;
  • Maintaining weekly evaluations of student progress;
  • Providing timely feedback to students.

Evaluation Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate students in didactic and clinical courses;
  • Participate in peer evaluations as requested;
  • Review student evaluation summaries and utilize feedback for future course planning;
  • Engage in program planning based on evaluation feedback.

Workload Expectations:

  • Full-time faculty will teach no more than 24 academic credits annually;
  • Part-time and Per Diem faculty will teach no more than 12 academic credits annually, with load divided between theory and clinical instruction as needed.

Faculty are also expected to maintain 2-4 office hours weekly, attend all faculty meetings, and participate in graduation and special events.


  • Professional responsibilities include committee work and service to the institution, with time allocations mutually agreed upon with the Dean of Academics.

Community Relations Duties:


  • Participate on program-specific advisory boards involving key stakeholders;
  • Assist in promoting and disseminating program information.

Desired Qualifications:
- Preferred: 2 years of teaching experience
- Preferred: Certified Nurse Educator certification

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.

Required Licensure:
  • Professional license relevant to the program of study (e.g., RN, RT, Surgical Tech) required. Non-clinical teaching does not require a license.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required for Nursing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


S - Sedentary Work - Involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally. Sedentary work typically involves sitting most of the time, with occasional walking or standing.

For specific care programs, refer to departmental requirements for experience and educational expectations, including continuing education.


PAY RANGE:
$95,000 - $105,000.00

The listed pay range is a good faith representation of potential base pay for a successful full-time applicant. It may be adjusted in the future and is subject to additional pay components based on experience, qualifications, specialty, internal equity, and location.
