Job Summary

Norfolk Southern is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Industrial Development Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing our industrial development efforts in the Tennessee territory, generating new freight revenue, and establishing relationships with industry contacts, government agencies, and economic development organizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with various Norfolk Southern departments to ensure optimum results of new industry locations and expansions.
  • Work with economic development allies to ensure NS involvement in rail-using projects at an early stage.
  • Identify, catalog, and maintain a current inventory of rail-servable industrial sites in the assigned territory.
  • Provide pertinent information on active projects and issues to NS Senior Management on a regular basis.
  • Interface with Marketing Business Groups on industrial development projects and issues.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in industrial development or a related field.
  • Preferred 6-10 years of experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
