POSITION OVERVIEW:

The District Team Supervisor is tasked with ensuring the effective and timely implementation of all merchandising, operational, and human resource policies and procedures within a specified retail environment, adhering to the principles and standards of Ocean State Job Lot. This position plays a crucial role in overseeing the entire store while managing specific responsibilities. The District Team Supervisor is also accountable for guiding, managing, and nurturing a team of sales associates within their designated departments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Advocate for the strategic vision of the assigned store in alignment with Ocean State Job Lot leadership, driving profitability through effective management strategies. Enhance sales performance through the precise execution of company initiatives. Oversee inventory management in designated areas, ensuring clear communication with Buyers and the Planning and Allocation Team. Recruit, mentor, and train store associates within assigned responsibilities. Cultivate high-potential team members to prepare them for future leadership roles. Ensure store presentation meets company standards, including merchandising, maintenance, and cleanliness. Adhere to company directives encompassing operational, merchandising, and visual policies and procedures. Monitor customer service levels to guarantee that service quality aligns with company and customer expectations. Foster a stable and knowledgeable store team. Manage freight flow, backroom organization, and timely freight processing. Maintain effective working relationships with store leadership, associates, and field management. Ensure smooth store operations in the absence of the Store Team Leader.

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Prior experience in retail management or a comparable combination of education and experience is preferred. Proficient in Google Workspace applications (e.g., Sites, Slides, Drive, Docs, Sheets).

Job conditions may vary based on the specific store location, including sales areas, stockrooms, and office spaces, which may present different temperature, dust, and accessibility levels.
