Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled professional to join our team as an Inclusive Education Specialist. This role involves managing academic accommodations, planning and evaluating reasonable accommodations, and advocating for disability-related student services and resources.

Daily Operations
  • Accommodation Coordination: Manage diverse academic accommodation requests for students with disabilities, working with students, faculty, and staff to ensure timely implementation and maintaining accurate records.
  • Compliance and Evaluation: Collaborate with the CASA Director and General Counsel to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of accommodations and services, ensuring compliance with the ADA and institutional policies.
  • Advocacy and Support: Act as an intermediary and advocate for students with disabilities, addressing their needs and ensuring they receive necessary academic resources.
  • Education and Training: Educate faculty, staff, and administrators on ADA policies, legal requirements, and best practices to promote an inclusive environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar or related position within a higher education setting.
  • Prior experience with student accessibility is required.
  • The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • A Master's degree in higher education administration, education, counseling, or human resources is preferred.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team to create an inclusive educational environment at Meharry Medical College. Our salary range is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
