About the Role

As an Advanced Patient Care Technician (PCT) in our Cardiac Stepdown unit, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient-centric care. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Obtaining and recording patient information, including vital signs, height and weight, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, intake and output, calorie counts, and other relevant data.
  • Documenting observations, interactions, patient responses to performed activities, and any physical or behavioral changes at the time of occurrence.
  • Reporting observations of patients to the RN/Team Lead.
  • Assisting with mobility, including regular turning and positioning, dangling, and ambulating patients.
  • Providing or assisting with non-medicated care, including non-sterile dressing changes, skin protection, application of heat or ice, and venous compression devices.
  • Collecting specimens for diagnostic or waived tests and ensuring accuracy of all labels and transfer of specimens.
  • Assisting patients with activities of daily living, including eating and drinking, bathing, shaving, oral care, grooming, and elimination.
  • Performing hourly rounding and responding promptly to call lights and patient requests.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
