Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Patient Care Technician to join our Medical Oncology team at Medical City Plano. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient-centric care, ensuring the highest level of comfort and well-being for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain and record patient information, including vital signs, height and weight, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, intake and output, calorie counts, and other relevant data.
  • Document observations, interactions, and patient responses to performed activities, and report any changes to the RN/Team Lead.
  • Assist with mobility, including turning and positioning, dangling, and ambulating patients, and help with the use of walkers, crutches, canes, and wheelchairs.
  • Provide non-medicated care, including dressing changes, skin protection, application of heat or ice, and venous compression devices.
  • Collect specimens for diagnostic or waived tests, ensuring accuracy of labels and transfers.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including eating and drinking, bathing, shaving, oral care, grooming, and elimination.
  • Perform hourly rounding and respond promptly to call lights and patient requests, aiming to anticipate and resolve patient needs proactively.
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification, or BCLS Instructor, must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
