Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Boston Semi Equipment.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing innovative mechanical solutions for our products, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop new mechanical products and subassemblies, including gears, racks, mechanisms, and movements.
  • Collaborate with product managers to define requirements and develop project plans.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to junior engineers and designers.
  • Develop and implement design procedures for new device packages.
  • Research and select vendor products, and test their performance.
  • Support manufacturing floor and machine shop operations as required.
  • Interface with customers and sales teams on projects as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university; M.S. degree preferred.
  • Minimum of six years of experience in mechanical design, with a strong background in machine design, gears, racks, mechanisms, and movements.
  • Project management experience, including timelines, schedules, design reviews, and writing functional specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals, analytical methods, and design from a systems engineering perspective.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks/Cosmos and other relevant design tools.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions:

This role may require domestic and international travel, and the ability to work in a lab environment with constant or intermittent noise.

Physical Demands:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a computer terminal, with the ability to use a keyboard and lift up to 20 lbs. as needed.
