Position OverviewThe Information Security Office at UCLA is dedicated to safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the university's information assets. This office is responsible for establishing effective incident response protocols and risk assessment strategies to identify potential vulnerabilities within the university's information systems.
The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Engineer will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and maintaining IAM solutions that adhere to the university's security policies. This role will involve evaluating various hosting platforms and configuration technologies to ensure consistency across different environments.
Collaboration is key in this position, as the IAM Engineer will work closely with the Director of IAM, IAM Analysts, and various departments to ensure secure and compliant access to identity data for all users.
This role is vital in protecting the information and data of university stakeholders, thereby supporting UCLA's academic mission. The IAM Engineer will contribute to the university's goals by delivering exceptional security services to faculty, staff, and students.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain IAM solutions aligned with university security policies.
- Collaborate with various departments and external vendors to manage access and identity data.
- Implement risk assessment strategies to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Execute a comprehensive IT security plan, including administrative, technical, and physical security measures.
Candidates should possess a minimum of three years of experience in cybersecurity, computer science, or related fields. Advanced experience with identity and access management tools in a distributed IT environment is essential.
Hands-on experience with directory services, authentication technologies, and multi-factor authentication is required. Strong communication skills and the ability to foster positive relationships with team members and stakeholders are crucial.
A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is required, along with certifications such as CCNP Security or CISSP being preferred.
Working ConditionsThis position requires a background check and adherence to university policies. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, with hours from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. PT.
