Job Overview

Isanti, LLC, a Tribal Corporation owned by the Santee Sioux Nation, seeks a highly skilled Controller to oversee the financial operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, finance, and leadership, with experience in managing financial functions, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and ensure the accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and oversee the preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Accounting Operations: Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger, and maintain and reconcile balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, and monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
  • Internal Controls and Compliance: Develop and implement internal control policies and procedures to ensure the integrity of financial data, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and tribal financial regulations and policies.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning, and provide insights and recommendations based on financial performance and trends.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role, and experience in a tribal or non-profit organization is highly desirable.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field, and CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational and time management skills, and proficiency in accounting and tax preparation software.

Indian Preference

Indian preference will be given to candidates showing proof of enrollment in a federally recognized tribe.
