About the Role

As a Cybersecurity Engineer at APL, you'll have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that involve software and hardware reverse engineering, vulnerability research, and developing proof-of-concept offensive cyber capabilities. You'll be part of a dynamic team that's dedicated to solving some of the nation's most critical defense, security, space, and science challenges.

Responsibilities
  • Perform deep investigations of software, firmware, and hardware to identify vulnerabilities and develop effective countermeasures
  • Develop exploits against embedded systems and build mission-aligned capabilities
  • Collaborate with top experts to learn the art and science of reverse engineering and develop new skills
  • Propose new ideas for internal and external funding opportunities and share knowledge through papers and presentations
Qualifications

We're looking for individuals with a strong academic record and demonstrated knowledge of fundamental topics such as computer architecture, operating systems, and data structures. You should be proficient in one or more programming languages and have experience using debuggers and reverse engineering tools such as Ghidra, IDA, and Binary Ninja. A passion for solving puzzles and perseverance through technical challenges are essential qualities for this role.
