Able Services is seeking a qualified Electrical Testing Specialist with NETA 3, 4 or equivalent certification to become a part of our Electrical Power Services division.

The Electrical Testing Specialist will be tasked with the installation and assessment of electrical power distribution systems, ensuring safety and efficiency for clients in the designated region.

In this position, you will spend approximately 25% of your time traveling, working both autonomously and collaboratively, overseeing routine responsibilities and projects, analyzing data, and generating reports.

Technicians at Levels 3 and 4 will also play a crucial role in coaching, mentoring, training, and supervising Level 1 and 2 Trainees and Assistants.

Position Overview

Compensation: $45.00-$75.00 per hour.

The offered salary range is contingent upon experience, skills, capabilities, location, and alignment with market data.

  • Travel to client locations for evaluations, testing, troubleshooting, and data gathering on electrical systems.
  • Oversee Trainees, Assistants, and Technicians during electrical testing operations.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, training, and supervision to Level 1 and 2 certified NETA Trainees and Assistant Technicians.
  • Monitor project scope and maintain communication with management.
  • Maintain, test, repair, and replace low, medium, and high-voltage equipment.
  • Diagnose various electrical components.
  • Evaluate and inspect cable installations.
  • Test, maintain, and repair transformers.
  • Calibrate relays and power metering devices.
  • Conduct testing on motor control centers and contractors.
  • Troubleshoot and repair generator control systems.
Required Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in electrical testing.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of NETA and NFPA70E standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Understanding of lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Clean driving record and commitment to a drug-free workplace.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with NETA and NICET certifications.
