The Sterile Processing Tech Lead is responsible for supervising sterile processing technicians as they prepare instruments and equipment for sterilization. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills to ensure the department runs smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise sterile processing technicians to ensure they are preparing instruments and equipment for sterilization correctly.
- Prepare monthly staffing schedules and adjust staffing to meet the needs of the day.
- Orient new employees and evaluate their performance.
- Conduct and assist with educational opportunities for staff members.
- Ensure the department complies with regulatory and inspecting agency requirements.
- Follow policies, protocols, techniques, and guidelines.
- Utilize interpersonal skills to maximize excellence in customer service, professionalism, and safe patient care.
- Contribute to a safe, secure, and caring work environment and cooperate among a culturally diverse workforce.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum one year of experience in Central Service required.
- Minimum one year of supervisory experience preferred.
- Central Service Technician Certification required.
Skills and Abilities:
- Able to read; write legibly; speak with professional quality.
- Able to use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position.
- Able to operate and troubleshoot patient care equipment required for the position.
- Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others.

Work Environment:
This role is located at Loma Linda University Medical Center and may be provided for both the LLUMC and LLUCH hospitals.
