Position Overview:

Nightwing is in search of a skilled and driven professional to become a part of our Aircraft Architectures & Systems Engineering division. This team is dedicated to defining and developing the frameworks, reference architectures, and standards for Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) Platforms and Systems.

This role is based in a collaborative environment where relocation assistance may be available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the establishment of modeling frameworks, standards, and governance processes for Avionics Reference Architectures.
  • Analyze market trends and requirements to identify unique needs and commonalities, providing recommendations that enhance asset reuse.
  • Design, develop, and document architecture requirements through reference architectures and reusable asset definitions.
  • Assist in creating governance artifacts to manage the usage and modifications of reference architecture requirements/models, guiding future architecture developments.
  • Support Channel and Product Line teams in managing changes related to the application of reference architectures, while regularly collecting feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with program leadership and systems architects to maintain effective reuse strategies across reference architectures.

Learning Opportunities:

  • Engage with stakeholders across various Avionics Channels & Product Lines, including executive leadership.
  • Develop specialized and general Systems Architecture design skills to support the vision of becoming a leading provider of Open Systems and high-integrity aviation solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with at least 7 years of experience, or 14 years of relevant experience in absence of a degree.
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined by local regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Lead Systems Engineer or similar role within an Integrated Product Team (IPT).
  • Proficiency in designing, developing, and documenting avionics requirements according to industry standards.
  • Expertise in SysML and Product Line Engineering.
  • Self-driven with a strong sense of accountability.

  • Comfortable navigating fluid and undefined environments.
  • Proven capability to work across organizational boundaries.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly.
