CLINICAL OPTOMETRIST

The Clinical Optometrist plays a vital role in delivering comprehensive eye care services to military personnel and eligible civilians. This position emphasizes the application of therapeutic pharmaceutical agents and thorough examinations to assess visual and ocular health.

As a key member of the healthcare team, the Clinical Optometrist will engage in various responsibilities, including:

Key Responsibilities

1. **Optometric Services**: Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose visual disorders, and manage a wide range of ocular diseases. Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment and techniques to ensure accurate assessments.

2. **Patient Care**: Provide treatment for ocular injuries and pathologies, ensuring adherence to established medical protocols. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to offer holistic care.

3. **Educational Role**: Mentor and guide optometric interns, sharing expertise in clinical practices and procedures. Facilitate learning opportunities to enhance their professional development.

4. **Administrative Duties**: Maintain patient records meticulously, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.

Employment Conditions

Qualifications

Citizenship Requirement: Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Educational Background: A Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited program is essential.

Licensure: Candidates must possess a current, unrestricted license to practice optometry.

Experience: A minimum of one year of professional experience in optometry is required, demonstrating proficiency in patient examination and treatment.

Foreign Education:

If applicable, foreign educational credentials must be evaluated for equivalency to U.S. standards.
