Operating Room Assistant, Surgical Technologist, Part-Time Opportunity

Howard University Hospital is seeking a qualified Surgical Technologist to join our operating room team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will be responsible for preparing the operating room, assembling equipment, and assisting the surgeon during procedures. You will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean environment, adhering to infection control protocols, and collaborating with the anesthesiologist and circulating nurse to ensure a seamless surgical experience.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operating room, assemble equipment, and assist the surgeon during procedures.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with the anesthesiologist and circulating nurse to ensure a seamless surgical experience.
Requirements:
- Graduate of Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
- Six (6) months of surgical technology experience or having performed a minimum of 80 surgical procedures in the role of first scrub as a surgical technology student.
- Must be able to obtain Surgical Technologist certification within six (6) months of employment.
