Surgical Technologist Role

We are seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at Prisma Health, the largest non-profit healthcare system in South Carolina.
About the JobThis full-time position offers a competitive salary of $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to the base pay, eligible candidates may also receive a $7,500 Sign-On bonus and up to $1,800 student loan repayment tax-free.
About the RoleThe Surgical Technologist will assist the surgical team during procedures, maintaining correct counts of instruments, needles, and sponges, as well as handling drugs and solutions under the direction of the RN. They will also clean and prepare rooms between procedures, terminally cleaning at the end of the day.
Responsibilities- Prepare for surgical procedures by collecting necessary supplies and instruments according to Surgeon Preference Card.
- Prepare the Operating Room for cases by opening sterile supplies, setting up tables, arranging instruments, and supplies according to the type of case.
- Assist the surgical team during operative procedures, maintain accurate instrument counts, identify and care for specimens, handle medications under RN direction.
- Clean and prepare rooms between procedures, terminally clean at the end of the day, return unused supplies, instruments, and equipment to proper storage.
- Maintain aseptic techniques, monitor situations that could lead to breaches, take corrective action.
