Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a full-time Radiologic Technologist for a dynamic outpatient imaging center. The successful candidate will deliver outstanding customer service while accurately collecting and entering patient demographic and insurance information into our RIS system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients and their families with a friendly and supportive attitude; provide clear instructions regarding procedures and address any questions.
- Coordinate patient scheduling for procedures and assist with administrative tasks.
- Conduct a range of tasks associated with operating x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of specified anatomical areas. Adjust equipment settings to ensure optimal radiographic exposure while adhering to radiation safety protocols.
- Monitor auxiliary equipment and assist physicians during fluoroscopic procedures, specialized radiographic exams, and bone density assessments (DEXA).
- Prepare and administer contrast media and barium as needed.
- Ensure the functionality of imaging equipment and report any malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Evaluate imaging studies for technical quality, organize processed images correctly, and label them appropriately. Complete related documentation using computer systems as directed.
- Adhere to safety standards and utilize radiation protection measures when operating imaging equipment.
- Provide orientation and training to new technologists and educational support to student technologists.
- Attend to the psychological and physical needs of patients and their families throughout all procedures.
- Be capable of lifting, carrying, and moving items weighing up to 50 pounds, as well as positioning patients as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree from an accredited radiologic technology program.
- Valid state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.
- ARRT certification in Radiology (RT(R)) and BLS certification.
- Preferred one year of experience in radiologic imaging; however, new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Proficiency in X-ray, Fluoroscopy, and Bone Density procedures and protocols.
- Solid understanding of anatomy and physiology.
- Experience with the operation, quality assurance, and troubleshooting of various radiologic equipment.
- Intermediate computer skills and navigation abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
