As a vital member of our production team at Kirchhoff Automotive, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient assembly of components while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Adhere to safety protocols and work instructions to maintain a safe working environment.
• Set up and operate various assembly machinery as designated.
• Follow detailed work instructions as outlined in the Standard Operation Sheet (SOS) and Job Element Sheet (JES) for all tasks.
• Execute die changes and set-up operations as required.
• Load and unload components from welding machines, dies, and assembly fixtures.
• Operate machinery that welds, stamps, presses, and rivets components together.
• Conduct manual assembly, welding, and tapping tasks as necessary.
• Ensure that the quality and quantity of produced parts meet established specifications and production targets.
• Comply with all company policies and operational procedures.
• Perform routine maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Complete all necessary documentation related to the role, including start-up checklists, inspection sheets, and quality assurance records.
- • Fulfill any additional reasonable requests from management.
• Be prepared for occasional travel, including overnight stays.
• Work overtime as needed, including weekends and before or after regular shifts.
• Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality for scheduled workdays.
- • Contribute to a clean and organized work environment by applying 5S principles (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
- • Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
Experience:
• Preferred 1-2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
Skills:
• Proficient in reading and understanding safety guidelines, work instructions, and company policies.
- • Basic mathematical skills for calculations involving whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense and sound judgment in executing detailed instructions.
• Capable of addressing problems with a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Effective interpersonal skills to interact with team members at all levels.
- • Manual dexterity to handle and manipulate parts.
- • Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required.
- • Capacity to perform physical tasks including lifting and moving objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
- • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including noise and temperature extremes.
Education:
• High school diploma or GED is required.
Lean Manufacturing:
• Familiarity with KAPS methods and tools, and commitment to Lean Excellence.
