Position Summary: The Patient Account Representative, under the guidance of the Accounts Receivable Supervisor, plays a crucial role in the efficient collection and resolution of accounts receivable, adhering to the policies and procedures of the hospital.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the timely collection and resolution of designated accounts to achieve cash flow objectives.
- Assist patients in promptly addressing insurance-related concerns.
- Manage a workload of approximately 50 accounts daily.
- Conduct weekly follow-ups on accounts with outstanding balances exceeding $10,000.
- Respond swiftly to payer denials.
- Employ account reminders to follow up on aging accounts at least every 35 days.
- Escalate unresolved accounts to management without delay.
- Ensure the accuracy of payments and appeal underpaid claims as necessary.
- Comply with fire, disaster, and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
Experience:
- A minimum of one year of experience in accounts receivable and healthcare is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
- No specific licenses or certifications required.
