About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at UnitedHealth Group. As a Pediatric Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical equipment to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients.
  • Room patients, obtain health history, check vital signs, and perform EKGs to provide accurate and timely information for healthcare professionals.
  • Administer injections and collect specimens to support diagnostic testing and treatment.
  • Document patient care using electronic medical record software to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Schedule appointments, complete prior authorizations, process medication refills, handle referrals, and answer calls to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Assist physicians, nurse practitioners, or physician assistants with minor, in-office procedures to provide support and enhance patient care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Medical Assistant certification
  • 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience
  • Computer literacy
  • Flexible schedule, including 2 Saturdays per month and ability to assist at nearby practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a Medical Assistant performing clinical back-office duties, including phlebotomy, injections, obtaining vital signs, and recording medical history
  • Experience with Epic EMR
  • Peds experience

Compensation and Benefits

New Jersey Residents Only: The hourly range for this role is $16.00 to $28.27 per hour. Pay is based on several factors, including local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, and more. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
