About the Role:
The Associate Dean for Graduate Nursing Programs is a key leadership position at D'Youville University, responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of graduate nursing programs. This individual will work closely with the Dean of Nursing and other stakeholders to ensure the programs meet the highest standards of academic excellence and align with the university's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of graduate nursing programs, including curriculum design, faculty recruitment and development, and program evaluation.
- Collaborate with the Dean of Nursing and other stakeholders to ensure program alignment with university strategic goals and accreditation standards.
- Provide leadership and guidance to faculty and staff in the graduate nursing programs, including mentoring, coaching, and professional development.
- Develop and manage budgets for graduate nursing programs, including faculty and staff salaries, curriculum development, and program evaluation.
- Represent the graduate nursing programs at university-wide events and meetings, including accreditation reviews and strategic planning sessions.
- Stay current with best practices in graduate nursing education and apply this knowledge to improve program quality and student outcomes.
Requirements:
- Doctoral degree in nursing or a related field from an institutionally accredited college or university.
- Master's degree in nursing from an institutionally accredited college or university.
- Unrestricted New York licensure to practice as a registered nurse.
- Three years of academic leadership experience in nursing in the higher education setting, including department chair, program director, or other academic leadership experiences.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five years of academic leadership experience in nursing in the higher education setting.
- Experience with advanced practice nursing education leading to a master's degree or a doctoral degree.
- Certified Nurse Educator through NLN.
