Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Building Technician III to join our team at Cook Children's Medical Center. As a key member of our facilities operations team, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, calibrating, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment, controls, utility, and distribution systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, maintain, and calibrate equipment, controls, and systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment and systems to minimize downtime and ensure continuity of operations.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts, to prevent equipment failure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of facilities operations with other departments.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices to continuously improve facilities operations and maintenance processes.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or college degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building automation, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and distribution systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Universal EPA certifications.
  • State or city license in a related field.
  • Experience with pneumatic tube systems, medical gas, and building automation systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other computer-aided design software.
