About the Job:

As an Electrical Controls Engineer at Barry-Wehmiller Companies Inc., you will collaborate closely with the Director of Control Systems Integration, overseeing project execution from conceptual design to commissioning. Your passion for innovative solutions, team leadership, and positive impact will flourish in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize AutoCAD for electrical schematic and hardware design
  • Program PLCs, focusing on Allen-Bradley ControlLogix systems
  • Develop HMI applications using Allen-Bradley PanelView+ and FactoryTalk View
  • Specialize in servo and motion control programming
  • Configure VFDs for optimal machinery performance and energy efficiency
  • Create and maintain program documentation for diagnostics, data collection, and communication systems
  • Manage project responsibilities across multiple assignments, ensuring timely completion and effective communication
  • Resolve control system malfunctions, contributing to efficiency and quality enhancements
  • Travel to customer sites and business locations for project support, with approximately 35% travel time
  • Perform additional duties to support project objectives and team initiatives
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automation/Controls, or related technical field
  • 0-2+ years of experience in controls engineering or related fields
  • Proficiency in a common PLC platform and programming language
  • Understanding of electrical components such as motors, sensors, and actuators
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Willingness to travel up to 35% of the time to client sites and business locations
