The Commercial Roofing Estimator will provide estimating services and oversee activities for large-scale roofing projects. This role is responsible for gathering drawings and specifications, attending meetings, reviewing historical data, conducting roof surveys, making labor and material calculations, tracking contracts, preparing bid packages, and providing technical support throughout the project.
Key Responsibilities- Pre-Bid Meetings: Attend all pre-bid meetings required for projects assigned.
- Project Manual Analysis: Analyze and comprehend project manuals, specifications, plans, addendums, and other project bid documents.
- Estimate Preparation: Prepare accurate takeoffs, estimates, and bill of materials based upon project bid documents.
- Review and Approval: Conduct reviews of estimates with project management team and President for final approval.
- Bid Preparation: Prepare bids, proposals, and quotations based upon estimates.
- Record Keeping: Maintain records in Company CRM database of Customers, Contacts, Project, and Communications.
- CRM Experience: Experience working with CRM software is a plus.
- Project Records: Prepare project records upon receipt of contract including bill of materials, scope of work, budget for accounting entry, summary of quotes, etc.
- Submittal Documents: Prepare and deliver submittal documents as required by the project.
- Value Engineering: Prepare value engineering alternatives in consultation with President and project management team.
- Project Change Orders: Assist project management team in preparation and delivery of project change orders as necessary.
- Proposal Delivery: Deliver and present proposals to prospects and customers in a timely manner.
- Education: Bachelor's or associate degree with a focus in Business, Sales, Communications, Marketing, or Construction is preferred.
- Client Relationships: Develop and maintain strong client and vendor relationships.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Communication: Excellent written & oral communication, including listening.
- Teamwork: Ability to be a team player and work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Time Management: Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to change and unforeseen issues, while maintaining professionalism.
- Authorities: Working with authorities that have jurisdictions (building permits).
- Personal Qualities: Trustworthy and ethical values and behavior.
