Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at WMCHealth. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to achieve excellent patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough and ongoing holistic nursing assessments, identifying and prioritizing patient needs and concerns. Develop individualized plans of care and implement interventions to achieve positive patient outcomes.
  • Patient Care/Discharge Planning: Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to meet patient needs and achieve discharge goals. Implement plans of care and facilitate interdisciplinary referrals as needed.
  • Teaching: Provide individualized, ongoing teaching to patients and families, utilizing evidence-based practice and current technology.
  • Communication: Demonstrate mutual respect and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, utilizing effective communication skills and advocating for patient rights.
  • Treatment/Procedures: Perform treatments and procedures in accordance with established policies, procedures, and patient care standards, collaborating with the MD and healthcare team as needed.
  • Documentation: Accurately and efficiently document patient information, utilizing the nursing process and required forms or fields/screens.
  • Medication Administration: Provide all aspects of the medication process, including assessment, administration, monitoring, and evaluation of patient response.
  • Quality Performance and Improvement (QPI): Participate in the QPI process to achieve excellent patient outcomes and improve processes, identifying actual or potential problems and implementing corrective action plans.
  • Delegation to and Development of Co-workers: Accurately delegate patient care tasks to LPNs, CNAs, and other ancillary personnel, supervising and orienting as needed.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, currently licensed in the State of New York, or permittee.
  • Basic knowledge of nursing theory and practice.
  • Knowledge of appropriate technology and practice standards for the area of responsibility.
  • Demonstrates sound clinical skills, knowledge of Hospital structure, objectives, and standards of practice, and positive communication skills.
Training/License
  • New York State Registered Nurse license required.
