Job Title: Tool/Mold Technician
Job Overview
As a Tool/Mold Technician, your primary responsibility will be to implement process modifications and conduct advanced maintenance on molds used in production. You will perform both preventative and corrective maintenance on tools and molds utilized in injection molding operations. Your role will encompass a wide range of tasks, including disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling molds, as well as engaging in metal fabrication and welding to ensure repairs and uphold quality standards. Additionally, you will be tasked with replacing various components of molds, such as ejector pins, sprues, cavities, cores, plates, and heating elements.
Key Skills Required
- Mold, tool, and die maintenance expertise
- Proficiency in welding techniques
- Metal fabrication skills, including grinding, filing, finishing, lathe operation, milling, and cutting
- Experience with injection molding processes is preferred
Position Type
This role is a Contract-to-Hire opportunity with an expected duration of 6 months.
Work Environment
This position is fully on-site. The work environment is clean and partially climate-controlled, though it may become warm during the summer months. The facility is well-equipped, and while the initial phase may be busy due to a production ramp-up, it is anticipated that the workflow will stabilize as staffing levels increase and production reaches optimal levels.
Compensation
The pay range for this position is $34-$40 per hour, based on experience.
Shifts
- 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM to approximately midnight
- 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM to approximately 9:00 AM
Typical Schedule
The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, with overtime on Saturdays as required. During the initial months, significant overtime is expected due to the production ramp-up.
Weekly Hours
Initially, you may work between 65-70 hours per week, which will later adjust to approximately 55 hours weekly.
